Piers are structures that let us build over the water. In Seattle, piers are home to restaurants, an aquarium and even a ferris wheel. They also make it possible to travel to the city by boat. What would your pier be used for? What special features would it include? Join us to design your own pier!

Designed with younger children in mind (ages 5-12 with chaperone), our family workshops encourage children and their caregivers to explore architecture through hands-on activities each month. Workshops begin with an exploration of exciting examples of architecture and activities that highlight the design process. Then, the kids are off—designing and building their own structures in a whirlwind two-hour workshop that culminates in a group presentation.

Parents/guardians must reserve adult chaperone tickets in addition to purchasing tickets for their children. If you encounter any difficulties reserving both types of ticket, please email info@seattlearchitecture.org for assistance.

We offer need-based scholarships for all SAF Family Programs. For details about scholarships please email info@seattlearchitecture.org.
