Designed with younger children in mind, our family workshops encourage children and their caregivers to explore architecture through hands on activities each month. Workshops start off with an exploration of exciting examples of architecture from around the world and activities that highlight the design process. Then, the kids are off – designing and building their own structures in a whirlwind two hour workshop that culminates in a group presentation.

With the COVID-19 pandemic we are currently unable to resume our Family Workshops in their usual format. Therefore, we are hosting a virtual family workshop! Using Zoom, we will host a meeting where SAF can share our presentation to get young architects inspired and then after an hour or so of build time reconvene to share what everyone has created.

We suggest gathering materials such as:

  • cardboard
  • paper
  • pencils
  • markers
  • colored paper
  • tape
  • hot glue
  • glue sticks
  • toilet paper rolls
  • any other fun found supplies in your home
