Libraries ⎮ Family Workshop
Sat, Aug 10 from 10am - 12pm
Libraries are so much more than books! In addition to bookshelves, many libraries offer spaces for storytime, lectures, quiet reading and more. Here in Seattle and around the world, we can see many examples of libraries that are not only functional, but also beautiful. What would you include in your library? What would it look like from the street? Join us to design your own!
Designed with younger children in mind (ages 5-12 with chaperone), our family workshops encourage children and their caregivers to explore architecture through hands-on activities each month. Workshops begin with an exploration of exciting examples of architecture and activities that highlight the design process. Then, the kids are off—designing and building their own structures in a whirlwind two-hour workshop that culminates in a group presentation.
Parents/guardians must reserve adult chaperone tickets in addition to purchasing tickets for their children. If you encounter any difficulties reserving both types of ticket, please email info@seattlearchitecture.org for assistance.
We offer no-questions-asked scholarships for all SAF Family Programs. Email info@seattlearchitecture.org to inquire.
