This event has passed.

This event will be hosted in partnership with the team behind the Melrose Promenade project. The project was begun in 2010 by Mike Kent, who had recently moved to the neighborhood and was struck by the disconnect between the street’s inspiring views and its less-than-inspiring streetscape. Since then, Capitol Hill neighbors have come together to hold numerous community open houses, secured $70,000 in Neighborhood Matching Funds to advance the project, installed crosswalk improvements and a streatery, and inspired the Seattle Department of Transportation to formally adopt the project with federal funding.

For this final event in our 2018 Neighborhood Exchange series, we’ll be dreaming big. We’ll tour the Promenade route and discuss changes already made as a result of the project, and finish up at the Capitol Hill Library to learn about challenges and strategies for similar large scale, long term projects from the Melrose Promenade team and community partners.
