This event has passed.

The SODO Track has transformed the portal to Downtown Seattle – a two-mile transit corridor traveled by over 50,000 daily – into a free and accessible urban art gallery exhibiting the work of over 60 artists from 20 countries who visually explore the themes of motion, speed and progress.  Join 4Culture’s Public Art Director Kelly Pajek for a walking tour of SODO Track. Kelly will be joined by Kathleen Warren, co-founder of Overall Creative, and Seattle artists Kristen Ramirez and Brian Sanchez. They will provide a personal look into the artwork, project history and partnerships that make this unique public art project possible.

SAF is co-hosting this event with 4Culture in conjunction with the exhibit, Discover + Disrupt, produced by Electric Coffin for AIA Seattle and on display at the Center for Architecture and Design.

We will start the tour at 5:00 p.m. near Western Safety located at 505 S. Lander Street, Seattle. Please meet near Western Safety on the S. Lander Street facing sidewalk. Please wear weather appropriate clothing and closed-toe, and comfortable shoes; surfaces will range from pavement to gravel and railroad tracks. A bus will take attendees on a short ride down the Track. Recommended for adults only.

This event is part of the ninth annual Seattle Design Festival. The festival features citywide tours, exhibits, outdoor installations,
activities, neighborhood design crawls and more from August 16 -25. Our 2019 theme explores how we achieve the BALANCE that is needed for our earth, our communities and our families.
